Oily Blend #7: Acne-prone

Oily skin that is acne-prone needs fast absorbing and moisturizing oils high in linoleic acid to sooth irritation, decrease redness, and balance without overstimulating sebum production. This blend provides mild UV shielding, rejuvenates and heals damaged tissue, and protects skin from environmental stressors.

Hemp – Nourishes, replenishes, smooths, penetrates skin deeply to prevent moisture loss, balances skins oil production, soothes irritated skin, and may help decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Pumpkin – A highly nourishing oil rich in vitamin E and essential fatty acids protects skin from environmental stressors, regulates skins sebum production, helps soften fine facial lines and wrinkles, and may be helpful for inflamed skin.

Red raspberry – Softening, smoothing, and conditioning with antiinflammatory properties, helps create a lipid barrier which provides moisture retention and protection of skin, and contains essential fatty acids with important properties to provide broad spectrum UV shielding.

Rosehip – Rejuvenates and heals damaged tissue (stretch marks, sunspots, and acne), and treats scarring, wounds, and inflammation.

To use: massage oil into freshly cleaned, slightly damp skin. Applying any moisturizer to a moist face helps lock in water from the upper layers of the skin, preventing evaporation. Note that skin should not be wet or the skin will be unable to hold the oil. You can also apply a small amount of moisturizer to your neck and décolletage, massaging in an upwards stroking motion until completely absorbed. The gentle massage will give your skin an added circulation boost.
