Combination Skin Type

You may have combination skin if your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) is oily and if your U-zone (cheeks, mouth, eyes) is dry or eudermic.

Combination skin needs gentle oils to balance, restore, and regenerate new cells for a smoother complexion.

We use: argan, pomegranate, red raspberry, rosehip, hemp, watermelon, and olive in our combination blends. Carrier Oils for Custom Blends describes each oil and its properties.

Combination Characteristics

Combination means you have at least two different types of facial skin. You may need to adjust skincare habits, but could benefit from using slightly different types of skincare products in different areas. Combination skin may present as:

  • Eudermic or dry in some areas, oily in others
  • Dry and flaky on cheeks
  • Excessive oil and shine on T-zone (forehead, nose, chin)
  • Dry or eudermic skin around U-zone (cheeks, mouth, eyes)

Do I Have Combination Skin?

  • Combination skin is a mixture of oily skin and either eudermic or dry skin .
  • To see if this is your type, press a tissue to your face first thing in the morning. It should show a greasy T-shape.
  • You may have a tendency toward black heads around your nose and pimples on your forehead or chin.
  • There are often small oily areas along the jawline as well.
  • A skincare program for this type should combine remedies for both oily and eudermic or oily and dry skin, depending on your particular combination.
