What happens if I get oil in my eye?

  • Avoid applying to eye area. If oil gets on your eyelid, it could end up sliding into your eyes causing irritation.
    • If irritation does occur, flush out with milk as it is a good reliever.
    • Do not have milk? Do not rub your eyes or rinse with water.
    • Wash your hands and use a clean tissue to remove oil.
  • Coconut oil is very eye-safe and could be used to help remove other oils (it is a perfect makeup remover).
  • When applying oil around your eye area we recommend a good perimeter to stick to Is temples, eyebrows, nose, and cheek bones.

Why are only some of your ingredients organic?

While we prefer our ingredients to be organic, not all oils that come from our suppliers are certified. Certifying organically grown plants is costly and may not be affordable for many small farms that follow the organic standards. The only way to guarantee the oil is organic is to purchase a certified organic oil. All of our ingredients are from organically grown plants but only some are certified. Some of our essential oils are organic but check the ingredients in our essential oil blends when designing your custom blend, as many organic essential oils are in blends with non-organic essential oils. Although we are not a certified organic business, we work hard to purchase the best ingredients for our recipes.

Please use our Custom Order Form if you are interested in adding a personalized touch to your children’s skin care routine. You have 100% control over the final product because you know your kid best!

Do you make all-natural products for dogs?

Yes! We believe strongly that natural skin care extends to our furry family members. Essential oils used as aromatherapy for dogs has shown effective for relieving stress and anxiety in situations such as severe weather, car rides, vet visits, and separation anxiety when they are left home alone. Essential oils are beneficial for skin health as well, useful in balms for sore, dry, irritated, and rough paws caused by environmental conditions such as walking on hot concrete, chemically treated grasses, salted sidewalks in winter that are not deemed pet safe, or tough, rocky terrain. Essential oils, when diluted appropriately, are also beneficial for soothing skin irritations and controlling odor when in-between washes. In addition to paw balm, we personally make a bug repellent spray safe for our dog. Any pet parent who spends a lot of time outdoors knows how miserable dogs can get with flies and mosquitoes nipping at them for hours! A bug deterrent spray can help make your pup more comfortable. Puppies under 6 months old should not use products with essential oils. Use our Custom Order Form if you are interested in formulating a personalized product for your dog.

Custom Order Information

The idea of a custom order may seem intimidating to most, since it is not something we are familiar with seeing when it comes to skin care. Actually, one reason we started making our own products in the first place was because it was so hard for us to find a business like ours that really considers how your skin reacts to products. Yes, there are companies that generate personalized or recommended products once you take a quiz, but the products are still manufactured in a large factory and are not necessarily 100% natural formulations. How many times have you been excited to try a product that claims to cure acne and disappear all blemishes? Often enough you end up disappointed, your skin is worse than before, and you are not getting the results you were promised. Custom products are an amazing way to understand your skin. Proper skin care is not a quick fix but a lifetime process, and we want to be a part of the journey of promoting a healthier complexion.

What exactly is a custom product? How is a custom product different from the custom oil blends that are for sale in your shop?

A custom product is not something we sell on our main product page. We strongly believe that skin care should be personal and that there is no one-size-fits-all remedy for any skin condition or type. A custom oil is our version of a generalized product geared toward specific skin types or characteristics. Custom orders are for those who cannot tolerate an oil in their recommended skin care blend, no matter the reason. We love to create custom products! We want whats best for your skin and work in small batches. We do not use any harmful ingredients or preservatives that do more harm than good, or cause problems that require you to use additional products to remedy. Custom products are not solely for complexion oils. We create butters, lip balms, and blends as well. Even if you are just interested in aromatherapy, we have roll-ons and ideas for essential oil blends to diffuse that we could uplift your mood, calm your nerves, help you sleep, as well as increase focus. We cater to dogs and children as well!

Since we originally started our business through a quest for acne-prone natural remedies, we love to make spot treatments that your skin responds positively to. Whether we use a specific carrier oil or essential oil, we want to help acne-prone skin of all ages and severity! Custom acne products are useful in addition to our custom oil blends.

Why choose a custom oil when I could have a custom product?

We recommend checking out our custom oils before pursuing a custom product, if a facial serum or body oil is what you are looking for. There are over 600 possibilities when combined with one of our recommended essential oil blends, that keep your specific skin care needs in mind. We spent months formulating and meticulously designing custom oils that include a broad range of skin types, considering the age of the individual buying them, their environmental conditions, and any skin conditions. We choose to work with botanical oils because all skin can tolerate and benefit from their moisturizing, sebum balancing, and nourishing properties. There are so many types of oils with a large range of properties suitable for everyone, such as calming inflammation, reducing imperfections due to aging, protecting against UV damage, and soothing irritations and itchiness. From certain vitamins and minerals to fatty acid and antioxidant content, each oil brings a unique character to our thoughtful blends, used for face, hair, body, bath, and massage. Those who suffer from dryness, scars, acne or itchy skin conditions, and even those who do not experience any ailment, there is an oil for all that supports overall skin health.

What if I am new to natural skin care and are not sure what my skin needs?

We are here to help you navigate all of the possibilities in order to find what you are looking for. We will ask you personal questions about what products you are currently using in your routine, what your daily skin care hygiene habits are, how often you are outside, any allergies, and what you are searching for in terms of goals and remedies. We have a skin type profiler tool that we ask you to take to get a more specific idea of what your skin is like. It is important to remember that if you are new to natural ingredients, your skin type is probably different from what you know. By stripping away commercial products (whether soap or moisturizers) that are manufactured in bulk and have unnecessary ingredients in them, we can truly get to know your skin at a truer level.

What are some examples of custom products you have made in the past?

Custom oils and complexion creams are our most popular customized products. We make day oils with UV protection properties, thicker night serums to replenish skin, under-eye oils to decrease puffiness and fine lines, beard oils that focus on hair health, after-shave oils to decrease irritation and redness, oils to relief bug bites and blemishes, and non-drying acne oils. We make specially formulated, quick absorbing, coconut-free moisturizing complexion creams for the face and décolletage. We have made herbal infused lip balms and body butters without essential oils for those with even the most sensitive skin.

Is it possible to see what other people have created to get some ideas?

We plan on offering a page or blog in the near future of the custom products we have made. As of February 2021, this is not yet a feature but we are so proud of the creativity in our community and want to share with the public. We will probably announce this feature on twitter, facebook, or instagram when the time comes!

Only “leftover” orders will be available for view until they have been sold. Although our custom listings are private, we often make more than the customer wants due to the nature of working in small-batches. This means we may give options on the size or amounts per each listing. If the customer has already purchased what they want or if they have not purchased the items in the allotted two week time frame of when they received the listing, we will then offer the item to the public in our Limited Items section (coming soon). Since the items are custom, we will offer additional information as to the skin type in order for you to see if the item is compatible with your skin.

How do I start the process?

After you log in, you can fill out our Custom Order Form to get started! We will ask you a few questions on the form to get the ball rolling. Once we look over your submission (which is editable on your end, by the way) we will contact you through the website for more details if needed and discuss a plan of action.

What should I expect?

After we decide together what your product is, we will take at least 4 days (depending on the complexity or quantity of the item) to contact you about the finalized product. We want you to have all the information about your product so we need some time to do research and pull everything together to present to you on the listing. After we know what ingredients we are using we will make it, we will create a label. We do not give you a price estimate upfront due to the nature of a custom product, but once we send you the link and password to your listing you will have that information.

Do I have to buy my custom product?

The short answer is no. If you decide you do not want your product for whatever reason (sometimes I like to make more than one to give you options), you do no have to buy it. We will give you two weeks to decide, then we will add your creation to the Limited Items page on our shop to give others the opportunity to view or purchase.

It is a custom order, why would someone else want to purchase what is specifically made for me?

Even though our skin types and skin care preferences differ, sometimes there are similarities. What is geared toward one type may also be beneficial for another. A product made specifically for you may also work well on someone else. For example, a chamomile complexion cream made for an individual with combination skin that is acne-prone and sensitive to environmental conditions could also be useful for an individual with mature skin who wants a nighttime cream with a soothing aroma to help them fall asleep. Natural ingredients have so many different properties and healing purposes, the possibilities are endless when combined. We make a anti-itch roll-on that is also effective for treating maskne, and a pain relieving roll-on that also keeps bugs away. We will have our “suitable for…” skin type recommendations as well as the benefits the product may have. Some people may not be interested in custom products but may prefer to shop around and discover what others have created!
