Adzuki Beans

Adzuki bean powder has been used by Japanese noblewomen for centuries as a royal beauty treatment to clean and exfoliate skin and to rejuvenate and brighten complexion. Originally, the powder was placed inside a small silk bag and moistened with water to create a creamy cleanser that gently scrubbed their face and body. Today, cotton muslin bags are used or the powder is simply applied directly to the face. The micrograins gently buff away dull, dry, flaky skin, promote circulation, and deeply cleanse pores by absorbing excess oils to remove dirt, impurities, and bacteria.

When adzuki beans are finely ground into a scrub, it gently exfoliates without damaging skin and removes dead skin cells from pores to encourage fresh skin cell formation. It also tightens skin and promotes circulation for a soft, smooth texture and a healthy, radiant glow. The zinc content (19%) provides a natural anti-inflammatory effect and saponin gives the beans its natural foaming action that helps naturally dissolve excess oil and cleanse pores to exfoliate, brighten, and nourish skin. It is gentle enough for any skin type as it will not disrupt skin’s pH balance or strip natural oils.

This gentle exfoliant scrub is great for all skin types, especially skin with enlarged pores, redness, irritation, and acne.

Adzuki Beans could simply be used as a daily exfoliator to remove makeup and dirt or could be spiced up with some of these suggestions for an added skin boost. With all forms of use, avoid delicate eye area. We recommend to use 2-3 times per week, less if you have sensitive skin.
